“Boxed In” pulls two awards.

Fotor091411364Its been a great six evening run at the Onewhero Theatre, the climax of which was a fantastic red carpet night ending in two awards. For what started out as a last minute idea with less than an evening to complete, we ended up with a comical film noir experience, seeped in cuteness (if one has the stomach for such things).

The audience choice was snapped up by a deservedly cute project about a boy who’s best friend was a box, but our film picked up best of category and the overall festival winner award.

“Boxed In” can now be see on the AfterWork Productions screening page.

Second place for “The Bigger Things” (2013)

ImageAnother year has flown by and the second year of OSPA’s has come to a conclusion. I had high hopes for a repeat of last year’s success but the standards had risen and we are very content to accept the film’s second placing. As usual it got to screen at the theater for six evenings, with an amazing turnout each night. To know the film was viewed by so many is in itself reward enough.

Very happy to have learned that Scarlett and Kay expressed their interest in coming aboard for next years competition as well, so the gears of creativity need to be started as before we know it, the year will have raced by.

Thanks again to all those who helped make this short film from it’s initial conception, through planning and filming. Here’s to NEXT year!

A win for ‘It’s My Life’ (2012)

Intermission

What a surprise it was to hear “It’s my life” called out for both best film and People’s Choice awards at the Onewhero short film festival. The range of films on show were of great quality and we had not expected any awards. In truth we were pleased to have the film show on the big screen.

We knew it had some laugh out loud moments in it, but the audience reaction was far more than we could have hoped for. The various ‘cute factor’ moments paid off, and the various topical jokes all got noticed.
